RBNY 5 - 4 LA Galaxy
By: Laurie | August 18th, 2007I don’t think I have the energy for a full post. All I feel like doing is paraphrasing a quote from the (quite good) FSC commentator:
How many moral victories can we have without coming up with the real thing?
*Sigh*

When you factor in the atmosphere, plus the game itself, it was the greatest MLS match ever.

Those two Pavon goals were really nice. I hope we can see some more of that.

I’m a Houston Dynamo fan. I watched the LA vs NYRB game. This was one of the most exicting games I’ve seen. I lived in Europe for eleven years and watched a lot of great football. I haven’t been disappointed with MLS. I’m looking forward and will be supporting LA Galaxy in the Superliga Final.

Utter circus at the stadium, not necessarily in a good way, but the booing and the shouting that drowned out the shrieking on ever corner did a cynic’s heart proud. Angel was brilliant, Jozy is going to cost someone a lot of money, and Mathis was fantastic.

That was an absolutely amazing game to watch on TV. I really never thought MLS could produce a game like that. If there ever were a game for which MLS should relax about highlights appearing on YouTube, this is the one…

Hey looks like a lot of bloggers made it out to Giants Stadium tonight and I’m sure as hell glad I did. Just got home and, wow, simply incredible.

Well I don’t share everybody’s exitment about this match.
1. lost is always lost
2. 1 goal from the field
3. 3 goals from 5 are awful diffence mistakes
4. millions ball’s losts
5. Donovan played too deep
6. Beckham isn’t fit, tired, doesn’t understand what is he doing on the field. When nobody was like to create anything at the end of the second half he played HOLDING Midf. Maybe Yellop thinks that he is Gatuso? So what we got? 2-2 after Beckham’s missunderstanding in the middle, lost possition…
7. No wings at all. Wings bring paace, pace brings chanses at least.
P.S. The only good thing is Pavon.Posted from

I was there as well, and the atmosphere was on par with a International match. The Bulls were relentless, and the trio of Angel, Altidore, and Mathis were awesome. Joe Cannon not so good though…Landycakes played well and Beckham well, was Beckham. I hope the crowd appreciated his quality service to his teammates. As a Bulls I wonder why on Earth Conway does not start, and is is just me or does Joe Vide think he is Gattuso, the kid is all over everyone, I hope he stays in the lineup.

Gianfranco
For being Gattuso you he needs to find his Pirlo, lol
I wouldn’t blame Cannon, first goal was wall’s fault. It happens all the time,I remember Dinho had one like this last year. Just unlucky. Cannon’s ball is the last one,he coald do much better and not to jump with the ball on your own net, maybe he lost coordination for a second. Second goal is a joke THREE players stand and look doing nothing and befor that two tried to clear…what a shame. But injuries and lack of expirience..it always plays some role and brings you mestakes, nothing to do but WORK
