I bet, on the money piece of this deal, that the G’s are going to do some Denilson-like bookkeeping and only apply a portion of his $400K salary cap hit against it because he’s going to play less than half the season. So instead of the full $400K, it’s something around $200K or less.

On the roster size – I bet they are gambling that the vagaries of the season will leave them with a spot come time for him to return. If that doesn’t pan out, they will probably cut someone.

roster number restrictions are still in place so
to bring someone in, they’d have to let someone go.

The Jones article today says that Beckham doesn’t count against the salary cap or roster cap while on loan, so the Galaxy could sign another player. But how does that work? Does that means that when he returns they have to let that player go? Or is it because they are only paying part of his salary, the remainder goes to the cap?

Hopefully I’m not the only real Galaxy fan that will be booing Beckham when he decides to make an appearance in July. What a crock of ****. We should have made Beckham come back on March 9, then bench him. The Galaxy just got played and we are the laughing stock of… everything. I am so close to walking away from 14 years of being a fan and taking a ride on the Sounders wagon.

And I just read on MLS Daily that if that deal Justin was talking about happens, Beckham will only be available for 11 games. Becks is totally ruining this club!

Nick Green also said that Josh Boateng has left the club. This one kind of pisses me off, he is an attacking player that was one of the only guys on our squad that I had seen attack defenders but oh well. Stupid small roster size!
