Even if not everyone has had access to Real Madrid on TV for the last 5 years, how can ANYONE HAVE WATCHED THE WORLD CUP AND SAY ZIDANE MAY BE A BIT PAST HIS PRIME!!!!!!!!!???????? (And no Laurie isn’t spending her long weekend at my computer, I am a completely impartial bystander). He can’t go from being breathtaking eight months ago to being old and over-rated now, just as Beckham can’t have been one of La Liga’s Most Valuable Players last season and suddenly useless the next. We must refrain from speaking in tabloidese

I’d love to see Zidane in the US, but I really doubt it would be with the Galaxy. Salary cap issues alone make it unlikely. If Adidas was smart, they’d try to put him in a short contract with an Eastern MLS team, to try to build up international superstar power in each conference, and Adidas is smart, but this whole report might just be bunk anyway. I’d love to see him play here – he may be a bit past his prime, but he still has a lot of great football in him.

Laurie have you heard the latest rumor? Some guy on bigsoccer posted that Zidane will join Beckham with the Galaxy! He posted the following link to back his rumor up: http://www.bild.t-online.de/BTO/sport/2007/03/31/zidane-zinedine-vertrag/beckham-david.html

The story is in German but he claims it says that addidas is behind this move. Its wants to continue to promote soccer in the U.S. Zidane would sign a 1 year contract. The rumor is most likely BS but I figured it would make your heart would skip a beat.
