Santino Quaranta to Wizards?
By: Laurie | June 26th, 2007
This is another rumor I’m currently seeing only in the blogs, but we all knew this day was coming, right? So I’m guessing it’s accurate.
Despite dyeing his hair in a vain attempt to be mistaken for Abel Xavier, Santino Quaranta is apparently out the door and on his way to the Kansas City Wizards in exchange for a future draft pick.
I can’t say I disagree with this one. No point in paying somebody $100,000 to sit on the bench and play the occasional reserve game.
But can we be done with cuts and trades now? Please?
UPDATE: M at the Wizards blog Down the Byline has found that elusive (semi-)official verification for me.

Actually it’s not just in the blogs, it was reported yesterday by the KC Star.

Thanks, M. For some reason this didn’t come up when I did a news search this morning.

Any word on whether the bag of balls the Gals got for Quarain’ta are regulation size 5’s or the mini-balls you use to score on your cat in the living room?

Nathan, don’t be catty.
I’m quite certain they threw in a pair or two of shinguards, too.

Shinguards! Ah. Well, that’s okay then.
Any truth to the rumor that “conditional draft pick” means a rent boy for Alexi and a full-body Thai Soap Massage for Frank?
I mean, since no one has said what round the draft pick is and all…

Nathan: The most disturbing, troubling and downright nauseating thing about your comment? I find it strangely titillating.
I mean…WAIT! Did I say titillating? I meant disgusting! Yes! DISGUSTING! THAT’S what I meant!
