And fcm, I haven’t heard anything about Laurent since the Bermuda trip. Roster day is tomorrow, so we should know then. (Crossing fingers that he’ll get to be a “developmental player.”)

I’m also hoping that the talent swap will go both ways across the Atlantic.

Actually, Lane, the answer to why I want to see the games is not so much in the post I linked to, but in this post. Truth is, I’m a fan of European soccer who is currently teaching myself to love MLS. I know only the basics about how the Galaxy play.

My goal in watching the games is to bring myself up to speed on the players and how they play. (Or even in some cases WHERE they play, as in right vs. left, or attacking vs. holding midfield, etc. As sorry as I am to admit that.) As an example, I see that they’re probably going with 4-3-3 when Beckham arrives, but I have no clue if that’s what they did last year of if it will be a new, Beckham-related thing.

So I desperately need to see a few of last year’s games to give myself a baseline to see what they’re trying to improve on this year. And yes, I’ve already braced myself for it to be ugly.

I just have a question – why are you trying to see the 2006 games anyway? Just to reminisce? It’s not like the Galaxy had a great season last year that you’d want to relive it. Am I missing something?

Unfortunately, MLSnet is pretty much a joke as far as official websites go. The news work is slow, vague, and often not even worth reading and the features are very limited. If they’re serious about an American soccer league establishing itself both in the arena of American professional sports and in the arena of global footballing, you would think they’d bring the league into the 21st century and have a decent website.

Any news on if the Frenchman has made the squad?? I’d love to see any young players with talent that are sitting in the big leagues in Europe get a shot over here. If we can’t afford the best players, at least spend what little we have on the best product available. More attractive soccer will attract more fans (not that LA has any problems with accomplishing that, but many of the other teams need all the help they can get)
