South African Midfielder to Have Trial

Mark Haskins, 28-year-old midfielder for South Africa’s top tier league team Moroka Swallows, is coming to LA for a trial with the Galaxy. No time line has been set for his trial. Anyone know anything about him? Style of play? Benefit to the Galaxy? According to his profile, his favorite movie is Forrest Gump. He gets my vote! Also, maybe we should bring back the Galaxy cheerleaders? Do any of the other MLS teams still have cheerleaders? I haven’t been paying enough attention to notice. Yes, I was a college cheerleader (gasp!) as well as soccer player but we never had to wear socks like these!

So my husband walks past while I’m writing this and sees Haskins’ team name. “Moroka Swallows? That’s why I got her number.” Badump-cha!
