Still Golden? Or Have They Tarnished?

goldenballs2.jpgBeckham couldn’t save us from a 1-1 draw with Red Bulls. Perhaps a little pre-game polish would have done the trick?

Oh. Wait. Maybe that’s what he’s doing.

He was definitely a little rusty on the pitch last night. Passes that he should have made were intercepted by NY defenders. On the other hand, you gotta hand it to their defense, they had a LOT of corner kick tries.

The answer to that is just not in our hands. Which brings us back to the match and Beckham's part in. Never saw his form effected like that by a layoff before. Gotta agree that he's still injured. How often DID that foot get re-whacked?

BTW, when I saw this photo I wondered whether the voodoo priestess that cursed the England players' sensitive area had gotten the squad list wrong and accidentally included Beckham in the group destined for "small discomfort, lethargy, ache and if all goes according to plan, an itch." (from Bob, of course, http://www.theoffside.com/worl.... Oh, the hard life of a baller...
  • You cant't blame Becks for last night. He is injured. And that has to be the first time I have ever witnessed Becks step foot on any pitch, sub or starter, and not make an impact right away.

I would definitely be "checking" for where Pavons skills went, and for the unbelievable amount of respect people give Martino. He just isnt any good.
