Greybush, that definitely had something to do with it. (Were you the one who posted the links? Thanks much for that!) Before those links I noticed that my blog would bounce up and down when I googled “LA Galaxy” — up to third, down to seventh or so. After those links were posted, it jumped solidly into third — directly after the Galaxy homepage and Wikipedia. And that’s where it stayed, getting displaced only by additional individual posts from the Galaxy homepage. (Not that I, y’know, track this obsessively or anything.)

And Beckham definitely helped too — I noticed a lot of incoming links around time of his arrival from people giving the Galaxy a try for the first time.

I think your increase in hits came from visitors of Bigsoccer and LARS message boards. That’s where I found your blog. Thanks for writing about the Galaxy.

Thanks for writing this blog, Laurie!

In fact, you inspired me into moving beyond my euro snobbery and give MLS a chance. And while I haven’t embraced it as whole heartedly as you have just yet, I try to watch a game a week, or at least the highlights (my team of choice is DC United).

Oh, and I got my DC United – LA Galaxy tickets in the mail today. With my luck, Beckham probably won’t play (my mother will be so disappointed), but my sister, dad, and I will be hoping for good football!.
