That Amazing Chris Klein Goal

By: Laurie | August 30th, 2007

You know the only thing worse than writing up such a painful loss on the morning after?

Writing up such a painful loss on the morning after with a hangover.

I blame Verizon. There’s something wrong with our internet connection right now where it’s running so slow that we can’t watch video. And this meant that I absolutely had to (seriously, I think it was a requirement) watch the game from an Irish pub near here that has free wifi. Therefore it is not my fault.

I’ll write more about the game later, but in the meantime, here’s that Chris Klein goal. Or at least I think it is. Since I can’t watch video right now, I truly have no idea if it’s what it says it is. So if it’s actually porn or something, it’s not my fault. (I think that this shall be the theme of my morning.)

To set the stage. Imagine: You’re one down on an own goal, you’re deep into stoppage time, the seconds are ticking off… And then this play happens. Magical. Getting a goal like this should catch the attention of the Hollywood Ending Fairies, who should have come down and waved their magic wands to make Landon’s goal go in. That’s what would have happened in a perfect world.

Alas, ours is imperfect. But here’s the goal.

  • Juwan, I am so with you. Klein just can't win this year. I think it's because the Galaxy gave up so much to get him. But this goal was amazing.

great goal. superliga commentators also made a mistake of say it was all flash gordon who scored. and also one huge note i want to point out. its a freakin awsome goal, why are the comentators one this youtube clip puting klien down so much. the guy scored an awsome goal. it doesnt matter if he tries it ten times in some ones back yard he did it beautifully when it mattered the mose. all i can say Chris Klien was asowme and the sport commentators are retarded.
  • I too wish that other channels would have had the game on so everyone could have enjoyed it. Not many people get Telefutura...but Univision put it on Telefutura because their cable channel is suffering in the ratings. Dumb if you ask me.

Besides the loss what hurts is having Beckham out for who knows how long. I read on ESPN Deportes that Beckham himself said that it might be from four to six weeks out. On one hand, he needs the rest and I get that but we need him. I am torn.

I watched it on Telefutura (or Galavision?) as only FSC Canada had it otherwise on TV. Maybe next time that will change. And it was a great goal, too bad they couldn't top it off with a win. I'll bet you Donovan is kicking himself, but he wasn't the only miss-strike, Pachuca has a great goalkeeper methinks.
