Oh, ugh! I agree with you point by point, Nathan.

I almost want to cry at how amateurish and ineffective the scoring chances were. I'm actually embarrassed by the play of our offense in or near the box. Donovan had created a few good chances (like that one run down the left flank) that went nowhere. If I were Alan Gordon I would have subbed MYSELF out of the game.

When Beckham gets here -- well, I'm not in a rush to embrace the guy -- but he is going to have nothing to work with. He'll be joining Landon and banging his head against the wall at the perfect opportunities he creates that are wasted. As much as he's screwed us over -- or attempted to anyway -- I actually feel sorry for the guy if he arrives to an offense like this. Buddle can't get better soon enough! And then he'll need the minutes to get back into the swing of things.

Ditto on starting, and leaving Klein in the game.

And yes, a GORGEOUS goal by Eddie Lewis.

We probably should have won yesterday, but no matter what... a DRAW is still better than a LOSS. I think the only time we can complain about a draw is when we're up a goal and concede late.

Kirovski should never be allowed on an MLS pitch again, and Arena should tell Jordan to just play one touch the whole game, cos he can't dribble himself out of a wet paper bag (but at least he doesn't trip on the ball like Ely Allen).

I have a love/hate relationship with Sanneh, but at the moment, I think he's bench material at best. I'm really hoping that the Birchell signing goes through, because then we could solidify our midfield, which only makes our defense that much more solid. Arena should keep Sanneh off the bench, ban Kirovski from AEG and CSUDH properties, and tell Dunivant that the week he just had off, you know, the one between the Seattle game and the Columbus game, yeah, that one, was to REST.

With a win next week against Dallas, we can leapfrog a few teams and get right back in the mix. We're not going to catch Chivas USA, but if we can get in the playoff mix... anything can happen. A playoff game between CUSA and Galaxy? I'll buy those tix right now...

Almost forgot to mention, what a beautiful goal from Lewis. He took it on the bounce and kept it low and put some power behind it.

I can honestly say Ricketts is saving this team, what a difference a quality keeper can do for a team. Our defense is a great step forward over last years but were just not creating chances up top. If we could have last years attack back, I can dream right :)

it seems we have a never die attitude which is good but we can’t constantly keep coming from behind.

I can't believe we gave up that goal, should have never happened.

man of the match: Ricketts

NathanHJ,
Yep - you have undoubtedly summed up the today's ineffective, almost lulling us to sleep, "attack-minded, but severely attack-missing" match. You've touched on all of the key points. And, I, too, could not understand why Bruce thought that putting Landon out on the wing was going to be more effective - because, clearly, "Live-wire" Jordan, and "Sequoia Sam" Alan were not... NOT... going to spring forth the cornucopia of goals. But, I guess - when Chad Marshall is playing center-back for the Crew... maybe, Bruce thought that Landon could get something sneaked past Gino Padula... uummm, NO. I'm going to go out on a limb - but, I clearly felt this match lacked the extra opportunities on shot-on-goal that having Todd Dunnivant and Edson Buddle in the match would most likely bring. Heck - what do I know? It's not like I'm actually picking up anything by watching MLS matches for the past several years. Alright, I'll stop being "precocious" now!
