The Transfer Window Opens In Less Than Two Weeks

By: jen | June 3rd, 2008

What do you think Lalas has in store for us this time?

Will Ruud have any say?

Will Vagenas finally be traded?  (I say no, he has legacy just like Cobi did, but we’ll see.)

Will we hang onto the young guys who are becoming good mid-level players?

Will Xavier go?

Is there any chance, any chance at all, of signing Bocanegra?  Would he require a DP salary?

X gone for sure. Pete, offer him something he can’t refuse-self respect and a made up position in the front office. Boca- offer him an incentive laden contract that is similar to the salaries of pete and x together and use the allocation money. Would not be surprised to see Landon gone next year, then use the DP money on Boca. Trade away Jazic for allocation money as well. This does not take much effort, TFC would probably go for him due to the fact he is a Canadian National Team Member- which lately means more then being on the US National team.

    My wish list:
    1. Center Def - Boca
    2. Center Mid - I don’t know but in the mold of Roy Keane
    3. Forward - Henry

Boca would be a great addition. Bring him on down. That and there is no way there letting Landon go, unless he leaves oversees. NOT! Happening.

This article is reporting that Boca is taking his time but wants to remain in Europe. I can’t blame him, but maybe we could borrow him for a few months?

McBride sure would make a nice target for Becks. But clearly it’s all about Bocanegra–and I wouldn’t mind having Albright back, either.

I know we want Boca but we all know thats a dream that probably wont be coming true. Who is a good defender that we might acually be able to get?

Cory Gibbs. He’s played on the US National team and is solid at man marking and in the air. His contract with Charlton Athletic (FL Championship) is up June 30th and from what I recall of his play he looked good and was a promising player for our Nat team. He has been injured so that is always a question mark. I think he could be brought back for a fair price and we would fill a big gap in our defense.

The official Galaxy blog is reporting that Donovan went to New York for the Argentina friendly on Sunday. If he was healthy, I would’ve definitely preferred that he stayed to play for LA. :( But I hope he does well on the national team. :)

The USMNT definitely needs him. They are missing a vital link without him there, although Adu and Johnson looked pretty good on Wednesday. We’ll survive another game without him — but I’m sure missing him as well.

Just wanted to comment on the team.

To Mr Lalas,I think your team could be the best in the US league, and here’s what i would recommed to you.

First and foremost, this is LA’s team just like the Lakers are,and money should not be an issue when trying to build a good team. The best thing that has happened so far is your Purchase of David Beckham, who is one of the most brilliant players ever to play the game and LA IS lucky to have him while he is in prime. Now that being said, this guy is a winner, always has been, and in order to have your team become the best, you have to buy good players to support him.I would suggeest buying a good goalkeeper first, then follow with maybe 2 very good defenders, then 2 great midfielders ,one that s a good marker, phisically fit, more of the MAKELELE mould and the other a good defence spliter like Beckham and maybe 2 really good strikers.I believe as a high quality player you need other high quality players to build a good team around.Right now,LA is just another team, and i know as having being a player myself, losing sucks. When you’re used to winning and i’m sure LA fans would love a winning team. There are several ways to keep a team motivated and i have some of those ideas.

You hired Ruud as a coach, and frankly i think he was one of the best players to ever play the game but may not necessarily be a good coach.Come on ,This is LA he is coaching and as a good coach you know you have to demand good player to be brought to the team ,but most importantly the players and staff have to love you,and once they love you,the players have to love each other on and off the pitch and if they all have confidence in each other’s ability then any other team that isnt like that will always be beat by you.Good players that are confident of their abilities will always be 5 grades above the ones that are not.

LA has so much potential and you can start working on that by bringing in good players to compliment Beckham before it’s too late.

    Wes
