This Galaxy Post is Actually About Soccer
By: Laurie | July 2nd, 2007It’s Monday, boys and girls. Time to re-cage our inner lech, stop thinking about beverage cans and moose knuckles (or is it camel hooves?), and get serious again about soccer. (I honestly don’t know where those kinds of things come from. In real life I am so normal.)
But anyhoo. Next up? Chicago on Wednesday at the Home Depot Center.
Good news for our struggling Gals: I have seen the enemy and they suck as badly as we do. I caught about thirty long, miserably boring minutes of the Fire-Rapids game yesterday and did not see them get anything going offensively. How happy did this make me? Very happy. This is the kind of team we need. How I wish that all of our opponents could play this way.
More good news: Conquering hero (or was it conquering hetero?) Landon Donovan is back and fired up and ready to re-take the reins and guide the guys to victory once again. Go, Landon!
And even more good news: New acquisition and Honduran international Carlos Pavón has received his work permit and will be available to play on Wednesday.
What does this mean? Well, if you’d like to dream a little about having somebody on the team who can actually, y’know, put a ball in a net, let’s go back here and watch the Pavón Gold Cup video.
But take along a napkin, because if you’re as hungry for goals as most Galaxy fans right now, you’ll be drooling by the end.

I really, really hope we score goals AND win, dammit! Anything less is unacceptable and cause for a riot!
