Great report on the game, Jen! I did not get to see the game, so thanks for the rundown. It does appear to me these days that the press is more interested in tearing people down than building them up…this mindset exists in the USA as well. Nevertheless, it looks to be an exciting year for the G’s with Landon and Ruiz teaming up in the attack with Becks superb passing and direction. Thankfully, both Landon & Beckham didn’t get injured today. A few of my old friends got together for a, cheesy but fun, Becks 100th cap victory dance…

Perfectly said on all points, Jen! Including the fact that none of England’s midfielders are the kind of poachers who finish that attempt on goal. The English press and pundits will never stop chattering about all things Beckham because his name sells so many papers — not least of all to complain about the fact that his name sells . I enjoyed his match, was interested in seeing who else got a run out and how they did, and will stay clear of the press.
