Totally Abel Friday: An Abel Xavier Interview
By: Laurie | June 15th, 2007
This article link came to me from Martha, who is currently sunning herself in Portugal and actually saw Abel play, live, in a charity thing a couple of weeks ago. Although Luis Figo was playing too, so I don’t think she paid much attention to our Xavier.
Her comment to me on Abel?
“When I think of Xavier, I think of an interview I saw with him a few years ago. He was standing somewhere on the Boro campus, in front of a building, seriously answering questions. Suddenly this screaming voice comes from above him: “ABEEEEEEEEEL! ABEEEEEEEEEL!!!!” (That’s “AH-bell,” not “AYE-bull.”) The camera pans up, and there’s Paul Gascogine (sp), hanging out the window and grinning and laughing like a fool. It was fantastic.”
Makes me smile.
But anyhoo. This article was originally in Portuguese and has been sent through one of those google-type translators. (The title “Of the tents of the Jamor to the doors of Hollywood,” might tip you off.) But it’s mostly comprehensible and gives a little insight into who this new guy Abel is.
your act of contract represents an enormous investment…
I find that the Los Angeles Galaxy already rentabilizou venda of the Beckham. Already they had depleted the capacity of the stadium for the remaining portion of the championship, something that never happens before. E with the nightgowns that already venderam…. It is good for the club and also all the players to have a person as the Beckham in equips. E for me is an enormous pleasure to play to its side and to have in equips a colleague of its dimension.
Because yeah. E with the nightgowns that already venderam….? It IS good for the club and also all of the players. You heard it here first.

Wow, I’ve never seen Google translate throw out nightgowns before. Clearly they use a special database for Portuguese.

wow, that was perfect! I really needed a good hearty laugh too; today I met AND deleted Kaka within like 3 minutes.
It was horrible. I feel stupid. Ask Martha.
Can we expect weekly limericks now? No teasing.
