Totally Abel Friday: Your Haiku of the Day

By: Laurie | June 15th, 2007

I’ve decided to make today Totally Abel Friday, in honor of our newest team member. Although technically he’s not the newest, what with this week’s Marshall-for-Buddle trade. But YOU try to get poetic with the name “Edson Buddle.”

So Totally Abel Friday it is. And to celebrate, I bring you:

An Abel haiku.

I know. You’re thrilled. You can thank me later.

In Honor of New Galaxy Player Abel Xavier

God, please hear my prayer
please let the guy’s performance
live up to all the hair

(And yes, I’m probably going to Haiku Hell for including a rhyme. Deal with it.)

  • Yeah. They probably just make you sit through readings done by seventies "poets," forcing you to stay awake while they strum lyres and beat bongo drums and intone:

"I love you/and you love me/ and when we find each other/it is beautiful"

And my gratitude to all for not pointing out that my last line had six syllables. We should all know by now that I can't count before caffeine.

Yup. Haiku hell. At least it's probably one of those monotonous and boring hells, and not so much with the entrails and the burning.
