Ty Harden’s Official Resignation Speech
By: Laurie | February 16th, 2008From the LA Galaxy website, Ty Harden’s own words about his departure:
“My parents have worked for Goodwill for over 25 years, so it has been ingrained in me that helping others is something that we have been put on earth to do. It has always been part of my life and something that I wanted to do,” said Harden. “I have loved soccer for a long time, but I have always loved helping people and doing things for others. I just got to the point where I felt there is more that I can do than just playing soccer.”
“I would like to thank the entire Galaxy organization for giving me a chance as I was not the most well-known player in the draft, and for all the support they have given me, especially in making this decision.” added Harden.
Can’t argue with that. Best of luck, Ty! We’ll miss you.
(And yes, I am hoping that this is just a hiatus, and that we’ll see you on the field in Seattle in 2009.)
