Want to See Landon and Becks Play Today? FSC is Your BFF
By: Laurie | August 22nd, 2007In case you happen to be sick (cough, cough) and available to be in front of your TV today, you can watch both Landon Donovan on the USMNT and David Beckham on the England NT.
(And yes, the most recent report I saw said that Becks will play. Is anybody else seeing a complete physical implosion on the horizon? No? Yeah, I’m hoping I’m not either.)
According to the Fox Soccer Channel schedules, the USMNT vs. Sweden game will be broadcast today at 2:30 Eastern (which, remember boys and girls, is 11:30 Pacific) and the England game vs. Germany will be broadcast at 5:00 Eastern or 2:00 Pacific, right after the USMNT postgame show.
And if you miss those, there are rebroadcasts of both games all over the place this week, but I’m too lazy to do the homework, so you can check out the schedule yourself.
Speaking of rebroadcasts, has anybody heard anything at all about a rebroadcast of Saturday’s RBNY-Galaxy game? I am just dying to see this again with a clear head, but all I’ve heard about is a local rebroadcasting in New York. Which doesn’t help me much. Anybody?
One of these days I’m going to have to overcome my Luddite proclivities and figure out BitTorrent.
(And by that I of course mean NO! I would NEVER engage in illicit file sharing of copyrighted material!! Not ever. Even if I could figure it out.)

Laurie,
My experience with soccer games on BitTorrent is that they are the least popular thing to download so nobody’s seeding them and it takes forever to get one game. You may have a different experience but mine has been anywhere from horrible to slightly annoying.Posted from

Laurie, tell me when the NY rebroadcast is and I’ll tape it for you (if you still own a vcr).

During the USA vs Sweden, the info thingy at the bottom of the screen said that the replay of RBNY vs LA would be on Thursday at 12 EST. Not sure if that is AM or PM.

Doug, I saw that too. Now I’m going to go in and look at the schedule. I got the impression it was midnight, which would be 9:00 here so not horrible.

Woohoo! SuperClasico from 7-9, RBNY game from 9-11!
I am such a soccer veg this week. I’ve already caught the US and England games, and I’m trying to catch France later today. And then two more tomorrow. Because who needs life outside of soccer?

I would lie, cheat, steal, and probably commit grievous bodily harm to see the LA-RBNY game, which I missed because I do not have cable and was playing in a pick-up soccer game.
Is anyone taping/DVD-ing this game? And what do you want from me to send it to me?

Nathan, do you have FSC? It’s on Thursday night at 9:00 PST. I’d offer to tape it for you, but our VCR is so outdated I’m not sure it’s up to the task. I’ll see, though. (One of these days my family will join the 21st century and get a DVR.)

Doug
Use fbtz.com-good site, you can download all games from there, because MLS isn’t so popular in Europe there are not a lot of seeders, but any way it takes not more that 4 days.

Laurie,
Sadly I have not the cable of which I hear so much about. I do have high-speed internet from my cable company, but the wife has put the kibosh on any cable for the TV. Something about not wanting to live her life staring at a box. I know, she is an alien.
So I am stuck.
What is this downloading of games I hear so much about?

I am taping the game tonight. Let me know if you still want a copy. I can send you a DVD of it.

Mirna and Nathan, if you want to email me I can “broker” the deal so you don’t have to post your addresses or e-mail addresses online. lagalaxy[at]theoffside[dot]com

Thanks Laurie! I will send you an e-mail. If Nathan or anyone wants a copy of the game, I’ll be glad to get it to them.
