Watch as ESPN Catches Every Beckham Unit Adjustment. Live.
By: Laurie | July 5th, 2007
You know that when David Beckham is involved, you want to see it all. Every move. Every touch on the ball. Every cross. Every facial expression. Every sweat droplet. Every loogie hawked onto the pitch. And yes, every public unit adjustment. (Because, as my brother-in-blog Ian says, “Sometimes you just can’t wait for halftime to shuffle the old yam.”)
(Question: Is that how you spell “loogie”? I generally don’t second-guess my spelling, but believe it or not, that is not a word I’ve had much opportunity to write in my life.)
But anyhoo. You know you want to see it, right? Well, ESPN is here to help, giving us our own personal Beck-cam (get it? Beck-cam? Does their cleverness know no bounds?) to follow and capture his every move.
“ESPN has announced plans to offer blanket coverage of the Galaxy’s friendly against the Blues on July 21 – the game earmarked for Beckham’s first appearance as a Galaxy player.
ESPN will carry the game live with 19 cameras following the action on the field and one will be trained exclusively on the former England captain, who has signed a five-year deal worth up to £125million with the Galaxy.”
And not only that, Reggie Bush, his partner in that Futbol meets Football thing, will be a guest during the coverage. And right before the match we’ll get to see the documentary, “David Beckham: New Beginnings”.
(Thank your lucky stars that the Posh documentary belongs to NBC, or they’d probably make us watch that too.)
Thanks to My Soccer Blog for the tip.
