Dave, I love love LOVE Lucy! It’s just that once I had kids — starting the lot with twins, a “Lucy moment” in itself — it seemed that all of the things I thought farcical on the show were absolutely and completely realistic, and where was Ethel when *I* needed her. (Fortunately I have had some wonderful Ethels in my life and hope I’ve returned the favor!). I’m still eye the oven now and then, btw, to make sure a six foot loaf doesn’t pop out — what was that anyway?

Diane, I was telling myself the same thing about head wounds because it looked really fleshy. Grateful for his two eyes remaining too. I wonder how many Galaxy fans were watching the match thinking, “Oh God no! Don’t let him be injured before he shows up in LA!”

Diane – please do not hate on I LOVE LUCY – one of the greatest shows ever. Ethel was too busy making fun of Fred off camera to ever be a good bestfriend to Lucy!

btw – Ethel is a great name for a kid if you dont want her to ever date. So I may go ahead and do that if I have a daughter . .

I saw most. Not great. I still think Ching is a great MLS player and poor international. I also repeat again that I think playing Donovan in the midfield is a mistake. Pair him with Altidore up front and you have a real threat. Put Dempsey in the middle to give speed to the buildup and add an attacking threat. Why don’t they do that?

Laverne and Shirley for sure. Although, personally, since I had kids I’ve often wondered what I ever thought was so funny about the Lucy show…AND where the f*ck was Ethel when you needed her !

Elbow was up. I kept saying head wounds bleed to myself, but I was really happy when I saw both eyes because that’s where it looked like the elbow hit. People have to learn to keep their arms down, if not to prevent injuries than at least to prevent send-offs and/or spot kicks awarded for hand balls.

Bad Game, BAD LIGHTING, Bad officiating – must have been MLS officials. Really bad tackle on Lewis – from the many replays that I saw – the Guatemalan player was late with the header and looked more like playing Lewis than the ball itself. The fact that blood was drawn, I believe sold to the official that a red car was deserved. But hell, those officials obviously come from the training school of MLS officiating.
The lighting at that stadium was pitiful – did they not pay their electric bill or replace a few bulbs?
Pitiful. But, a win is a win especially on the road. Sucks for the LA Galaxy getting a player that is now damaged goods! Such has been this season.
