I received a couple of links to this article, but my favorite came from my sister-in-blog Martha of Italy Offside and RBNY Offside. (Who, for the record, is not a huge Beckham fan.) The e-mail heading read: “Beckham IS the Borg.” Heehee. You WILL be Assimilated.

If you attend an LA Galaxy home game this year, even a game before Beckham’s July arrival, your ticket will bear the smiling face of… Oh, this is such a surprise! You’ll never guess! Okay, I know you’re stumped, so I’ll tell you: David Beckham. I know! I’m shocked too!

A source told the Daily Star: “Posing majestically with his new hair-do and gazing into the distance might not do anything for UK fans but US audiences are different. They like their sport with added glamour, right down to the tickets. There have been quite a few raised eyebrows over this. Seeing Beckham plastered all over tickets for these matches, which he won’t be playing in, is quite strange.”

Because, yeah. It’s all about The Beckhams and that added glamour. That was EXACTLY the word that came to mind this morning when I was watching a rather surreal video of Victoria and her Louis Vuitton-collared little dog as she discussed the fact that he’d been eating his own poop.

Here is another one that I think you will get a kick out of, I was at the Chivas game on Saturday at the HDC, and they now have a VIP entrance with security and a red carpet. It was kind of funny seeing that at a US soccer stadium.
