He has played so well and kept us in a lot of matches. Boca and Gooch have both played well and Gooch is improving game after game, for sure a player that will be around for many many more years! For that matter, I would put Lewis (another local LA boy) in front of Onyewu, purely because Gooch will have more years to win it, and Lewis has brought that veteran leadership, calming play, and great service from the left side (and he also saved us from almost certain embarassment with the goal against Barbados). He is the one player that we can count on to be sublime each game, and his presence on the team is a no-brainer. That being said, I think the one section on the field that has been the most consistent if not most imporived this year has been our defense, and our center backs in particular. I'd have a tough time determining whether to put Boca ahead of Gooch of vice versa (maybe look at goals scored as the tie-breaker), but Howard followed by Boca and Gooch are definitely my top three I think Tim Howard i the obvious front-runner.
