Gullit Could Play. But Could He Sing?

By: Laurie | November 12th, 2007

I’m still engaging in a quixotic quest for info about last night’s game that is not about Beckham. (David Beckham had an assist. I’ve read that from about twenty different sources. Aside from that, I’m not sure there was a game played.)

To fill your time as I’m searching, I give you: Ruud Gullit, singer. Or at least Ruud Gullit, the guy who put out a reggae-ish song. I’ll let you make up your own mind.

(Hat tip to Who Ate All the Pies.)

I listened to the end of the game, so here’s what I got. Apparently, this was the Copa Minnesota, so they actually went into penalties.

    Score: 1-1
    Galaxy Win 3-2 on penalties

    Goals:
    LA – Buddle(Beckham)
    MIN – Le Toux(O’Brien)

    Penalty Kicks:
-Troy Roberts scored the game-winning PK.
    -Pavon and Veris missed
-Steve Cronin saved 3 (MLSnet says 2) of the 5 PK’s

Melissa, I had the same problem when I tried to listen on the Who Ate All the Pies site, but then it worked when I double-clicked and went to YouTube itself. I did have to turn up the volume, though. Maybe that would help.

The broadcast announcing doesn’t start until about 5 minutes or so into the clip, the beginning sounds silent but you can hear a bit of the stadium background noise. The game started late so I guess the turned the mic on early.
