Galaxy Poll: Should the Focus be on SuperLiga or League Play?
By: Laurie | August 13th, 2007I forgot to use my fun new polling toy last week. How did that happen? I’ll make it up to you this week.
My question: SuperLiga or League play?
Here’s my thinking. We all know that our lord and savior David Beckham is not at 100%, right? Which means chances are that he won’t have it in him to play full games in both Wednesday’s SuperLiga match against DC and Saturday’s league match against RBNY. Are you with me so far?
What I think we’re going to see for the rest of the year is this: As Beckham goes, so goes the Galaxy. This team has been built around him so completely that our chances to win will improve significantly if and when he takes the field for more than a few minutes.
So IF we had to prioritize (and couldn’t just play him in one half of each game,) and IF he’s healthy by Wednesday, where do you think the team should put its efforts? SuperLiga, where winning two games would give us some silverware, or League play, in the hopes that this season is still salvageable and we can still make the playoffs?

Two things: good poll - and I did particpate (Superliga; with regard to the league, I’m going to go out on a short limb and declare LA’s playoff push dead).
Second, I work on Wordpress now so think I can use the same toy; where do you find this marvelous polling toy?

Jeff, go up to the poll and you’ll see a small print link at the bottom that says “Create your own poll.” Click on that and you will be immediately taken to the magic site. You have to register, etc., but it’s free and fun. (I got it from Chris at the AS Roma blog.)

I think the focus should be on the friendlies. They need to rest up for that Australia trip.
