Galaxy on “The Apprentice”? I’m Serious

Apparently the Galaxy and “The Apprentice” are hooking up. Is that a frightening thought or what?

And why am I imagining Donald Trump, combover glued into place, waving a David Beckham photo in Landon Donovan’s face and announcing, “You’re FIRED!”

On Sunday, March 11, the Los Angeles Galaxy and The Home Depot Center will be featured in an episode of “The Apprentice: Los Angeles” on NBC. The segment will feature the show’s contestants as they attempt to produce and perform a halftime promotion during a Galaxy game.

Umm… Yeah. Who needs beautiful play of the beautiful game when you have “The Apprentice”? This is exactly the promotion that I would have put together if I were involved in Galaxy management.

Thanks Kenny. My general weakness as a sportsfan is not being good enough at hating opposing teams. I'm really good at loving mine passionately, but I just can't get the blind rage up for the opposition...oh well, nobody's perfect.

I promise to behave myself, Kenny. I forgot where I was for a minute and my Chelsea antipathy overtook me. It's going to take me awhile to get back over to this side of the ocean football/soccer-wise...sorry :(

Yeah, Chelsea wouldn't have been my first choice either. But both are owned by billionaires unafraid to throw money at expensive players, so there's probably some synergy here, right? Especially if we ever get successful enough to lift the salary cap.
