Galaxy to Play in Vancouver Now?

By: Laurie | April 15th, 2007

The Galaxy don’t have enough games on their schedule. Not NEARLY enough. So how about adding a game in Vancouver, B.C. this summer?

Galaxy will also play an exhibition game against 2006 United Soccer Leagues’ First Division champion Vancouver Whitecaps. The date of the game at Vancouver’s B.C. Place Stadium will be announced at a Monday afternoon news conference.

Galaxy head coach Frank Yallop, the ex-Canadian national team coach, will be in Vancouver for the announcement.

I’m actually kind of happy about this one, because it’s in driving distance for me. And I already hate the Whitecaps (rivals of the Seattle Sounders,) so my emotions are engaged.

But still. Another summer game after Beckham’s arrival? Is the goal here to see our guys’ bodies physically implode?

No doubt. What premier league team or Bundesliga team schedules matches against division 2 teams just to creat play dates? Give the guys a break when they have it so we can watch them perform when it matters.

I expecting Frank to use more of a reserve team for this match. We are really becoming the whores of the league.
