It’s Official! Pavón is Here!

Two bits of humor here. When you Google “Carlos Pavón,” my haiku is the fourth link that comes up. And according to Wikipedia, his full name is: Carlos Alberto Pavón Plummer. I’m not sure why I find that amusing.

But anyhoo. Sideline Views has a video of the press conference officially announcing the signing of Honduran international Carlos Pavón. Obviously you can’t tell a lot from a fifteen-second video, but to me he comes across as humble. I think I like him.

Crossing my fingers that his onfield performance lives up to ~~that lovely smile~~ all the hype and the four-goal Gold Cup game. Judging by this video, it just might.

(Seriously. Watching this gave me goosebumps. If he can keep this up, the guy is JUST the kind of poacher we need to get on the end of Beckham’s crosses.)

Fun if match nights start looking like that. Re hiring spree: maybe Galaxy are just forging ahead with the blind hope that the salary cap will be loosened by next year (similar, I'm sure, to what keeps the developmental players going).
