Meet Candice, Miss L.A. Galaxy!

Man: If I can lean in just a little further, I can tell if they’re real.
Girl #1: There has to be an easier way to pay my tuition.
Girl #2: Ooh! Show business is even MORE glamorous than I’d imagined!!

In one of the odder manifestations of United States Meets the World’s Game, let me introduce you to Candice, the young lady on the left, Miss LA Galaxy for 2007. When she was crowned Miss LA Galaxy, she received, “a $1000 prize and a makeup gift pack from Cover Girl.” Which would make this SO worth it, right?

What does one have to do be be selected Miss LA Galaxy? According to the LA Galaxy website, (and yes, this is the same website that can’t be bothered to keep us up to speed on the actual team), “The winner was chosen based on her poise, confidence, public speaking abilities and academic success.” (And I would guess that “Soccer Knowledge” and “Big Hooters” are on the Double Super Secret Requirements list.)

Candice even has a MySpace page, which you, as a Galaxy fan, are totally invited to visit. It will play “Dancin’ in the Moonlight” every time you stop by. (This is more than mildly annoying when you’re checking out the page while also trying to listen to a Nate Jaqua interview.)

But I guess this sort of thing isn’t meant for people like me, eh?
