More on Sunday’s Game
By: jen | May 19th, 2008Here is Serioux’s foul on Beckham. Notice how he walks in front of the Galaxy bench on his way out. A little more “in your face” from him. I wonder if he will be disciplined beyond the red card. Beckham had a few words for Serioux as well.
Full game highlights here. And yeah, what a through ball from MacDonald on Klein’s goal!!

Oh, and a little cross-pollination for my Beckham blog. I was wondering if you all had a take on this.

I am so ticked that I missed this game. Sigh.
What’s interesting to me, though? The goals took so many routes, and so many players were involved. I’m thinking the combination of Ruud and David is becoming a very, very good thing for the existing players. They’re teaching a connectedness and quality of team play that’s becoming a lot of fun to watch.
It was also good to see Tudela on the field. How did he play? On Tuesday I thought that he was raw (yes, he did give the ball away a lot) but he’s a fighter too. Raw you can work on, fight you can’t.

Everyone here probably visits sidelineviews as well, but Andrea Canales had this a link to this article which adds a a little to the one you have above, Jen. It has some lengthy press conference quotes — always handy — and talks about some of the things mentioned here in previous comments on the match. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=536775&root=mls&cc=5901

Serioux should be disciplined more than just a red card. His lack of respect for the game is not what MLS want to see going on. His shot on Beckham was completely reckless (could end someones career)and then barking at him and the Galaxy bench on the way out. He should be fined and out for a few game suspension. A real piece of sh*t :p
