New Galaxy Jerseys: Home and Away Back Photos

Look! I’m posting illicit photos! I feel so..wicked.
The front of the away jersey seems to be the only photo not leaked. The next best thing is a back photo, from which you can kind of extrapolate. Particularly given that the photo of the home back looks pretty similar, just with different colors. (I’ve included the home back photo only as a thumbnail, but you can click on it for a bigger photo.) And when you’re done comparing the backs, go back and look and the front of the home jersey and use your imagination.

Anyone have any information on how many of these jerseys Adidas thinks it will sell? I think it will be interesting to see if they cross over to the non-soccer crowd in the States.

To my eyes, the new jersey couldn’t be less distinctive, more ordinary, if that had been the designers’ intent. The Galaxy, which used to wear teal green and gold, a unique combination that, with a quality team, might well have become recognized around the world, will now be all but indistinguishable from the numerous teams wearing a dark blue or black. So much for rebranding.
