Quote of the Day: Alexi Lalas
By: Laurie | January 16th, 2008“As far as the salary cap goes, well, there are a lot of creative things you can do to get around that. Without breaking the rules, you understand.” — Alexi Lalas
Yes, Alexi. We understand.
Oh. Wait. No, we don’t. Maybe you could explain it to us?
The above quote is from an article titled, “Why Ruud Likes Ruiz.” I expected new info, but all it really says is, “We needed a striker.”
Um…yeah. Thanks for that insight.

Yes, LA is the best team in league. Pay no attention to the wins, or the losses. Pay no attention to the league table at all. They have a name that’s recognizable! He’s so pretty!
Seriously, I have nothing against the Galaxy, but even Laurie would have a hard time saying they’re the best team in the league with a straight face. That hasn’t been the case in years.

On Paper, L.A. should be Dominating this League..! But, Surprises happen in the wonderful world of Footie.

this season should good. with the new coach, some interesting player trades and hopefully the team will show some chemistry they should be towards the top of the table. but we all how what looks good on paper doesn’t translate into the real world.
I’m looking forward to the Pan-Pacific tourney to see how they’re coming together.

I looked on the Yahoo front page and saw the caption “Famous head-butter may play soccer in U.S.” Nice. Anyway, the article says that if Zidane returns to playing he would most likely want to go to MLS, probably on New York. So Laurie, if Zidane goes to New York…

Wow. Zidane coming would be something else.

So are they ditching Reyna or Angel? Or more likely is Zidane giving us the windup?

Lalas did shoot down any chance of Figo going to the Galaxy, citing “cap constraints” . . . . funny aint it?
He did say that the possibility of another club picking him up were good.
