The Schedule Is Set
By: jen | January 28th, 2009The Galaxy’s season schedule is up.
What I notice the most is the absence of much television coverage in the first half of the season. I wonder if more stations will commit to televising the games as we get closer to the season start. I imagine if Beckham returns then someone will want to broadcast those early matches.
Also, our first three games of the season are at home. That can definitely be to our benefit.

Funny, I was noticing today that Seattle’s schedule is heavily weighted toward nationally televised home games. It’s as if MLS has given up on the Galaxy as its glamor team and annointed Seattle (home of that OTHER underwear model) in its place.

Jen, I think it’s safe to assume that most of the games that aren’t listed as having a national broadcast will be on FSW or Prime Ticket. That’s how it was last year.
Also, it seems that our traditional long road trip is earlier this year–in the past I remember it being in August, not July.
I thought MLS was going to try to schedule games to avoid playing during international call-ups. So much for that–what a joke.

I thought that the PPC game were going to be broadcasted on FSC, but the schedule and the official site don’t have anything listed. Maybe someone knows about this?
Also, I found this article on Edson Buddle. Hopefully, this means that his injury problems will be over.

I saw that too George. I hope he feels better. He did well last year for feeling so crappy — hopefully his mental/emotional game will improve now that he has a good treatment.

OT – Todd Dunivant coming back to G’s? It looks like it might be a reality.

Frank,
Thanks so much for that update and link. If it is true, this should be a very good pick-up for us. Very good worker on the left-flank; good-passer; and, not that easy to bully around – should be able to hold the ball well. Of course, all of this depends on whether he has completely recovered from his ankle surgery. I hope so.
Also, on the official LA Galaxy blog, it seems that Bruce wanted to give Yohance Marshall another few weeks to try out for the team at Center Back. I’m not sure about his tactical awareness and tracking. But, he is a young, strong, capable defender. Again, until we see him play against the likes of Javier Morales or Alejandro Moreno or Juan Pablo Angel… it’s pretty much up-in-the-air.Posted from

Your welcome. I think Dunny is the last LB that I was consistently comfortable with. He along with Albright made a great combo for the G’s. I’m happy with the move. As for Becks…I like him as a player and a person…but, I’m just sick and tired of the soap opera/circus that surrounds him….ENOUGH!!. Bye Becks, I hope you achieve your goals! Time to move on and find a player that REALLY wants to be a true part of the team.

I agree with you Frank, they need to allow him to go and have him come back after the 2010 world cup that way both parties will be happy.
