Toronto-Galaxy Preview

Good news! It looks as if Kyle Martino may be back from The Injury Which Makes Me Cringe.

(And you want to know the worst part of all of this? I just realized, after the fact, that I found the above link by searching this blog for the words “Martino groin.” Ick! Eww! Curses upon whoever decided that this was the correct term for an upper leg injury!!)

But moving on. Looks like Kyle will be back. This would be good news. If he’s better, he can cheerfully go on about his business of moving toward getting those last two yellow cards which will eventually lead to his next suspension. Hey, we know it’s going to happen for both Martino and Kevin Harmse eventually, right? They’re both two cards away, and with the aggressive way they play (and I mean this in a good way), it’s inevitable. So let’s be positive here and see it as just another part of the process.

Not so good news is that it looks like Cobi Jones is still out. The Galaxy homepage is saying it’s a hip injury? When and how did that happen? I thought he was out because of his recurring heel injury? Wouldn’t it be nice to have some way of being informed of these things?

And of course we all know that David Beckham’s out, right? He’s listed as “questionable,” but he ain’t playin’. Let’s just make that clear in advance, so there’s no disappointment and no calls for a friendly or some dumb thing next year to make up for it. When it comes to Becks, this is a whine-free zone. Got it?

Expected lineup follows . And since these are never right, I get entertainment from figuring out what will be different. (Yes, I am easily amused.) My guess is that Martino will play where Klein’s shown, with maybe some other juggling done in the midfield to fit Klein into the mix. Maybe instead of Vagenas? I have no idea. What do you think?
